1. About PuppyProtect.ie
PuppyProtect.ie is a trading name of dogs.ie and lifeandprovide.com. We act as an insurance intermediary, arranging pet insurance products on behalf of our customers. Our role is to assist you in identifying suitable pet insurance cover and to place that cover with an authorised insurer.
PuppyProtect.ie is a registered business name in Ireland. Our offices are located in Ireland and we operate exclusively within the Irish market.
2. Regulatory Status
Life and Provide Ltd (trading as lifeandprovide.com) is the registered insurance broker and is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. Life and Provide is the sole entity authorised to arrange and place insurance policies on behalf of customers through PuppyProtect.ie. PuppyProtect.ie itself is not a registered insurance broker.
Insurance intermediaries in Ireland are regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland under the European Union (Insurance Distribution) Regulations 2018 and the Consumer Protection Code 2012 (as amended).
You may verify the regulatory status of Life and Provide Ltd by contacting the Central Bank of Ireland at www.centralbank.ie or by calling +353 1 224 6000.
We do not provide financial advice. The information presented on this website is intended for general information purposes only and does not constitute a personal recommendation or financial advice. You should consider seeking independent financial advice before making insurance decisions.
3. Insurance Intermediary Disclosure
In accordance with the Consumer Protection Code, we wish to make the following disclosures:
- We act as an agent of the customer when arranging insurance cover.
- We may receive commission and other payments from insurers in respect of policies arranged.
- Details of our commission arrangements are available on request.
- We hold professional indemnity insurance as required by law.
- We do not hold client money in any capacity — premiums are transmitted directly to the insurer.
4. Financial Compensation Disclosure
PuppyProtect.ie (operated by dogs.ie) may receive financial compensation, including commission, referral fees, or other payments, for each new insurance policy arranged through this website. This compensation is paid by the insurer or the arranging broker and does not result in any additional cost to you.
All insurance policies are arranged exclusively through Life and Provide Ltd, the registered insurance broker regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. PuppyProtect.ie acts as an introducer and is not itself authorised to sell, advise on, or bind insurance contracts.
5. Your Policy
All pet insurance policies arranged through PuppyProtect.ie are underwritten by authorised insurers. The terms, conditions, and exclusions of your cover are set out in the policy document provided by the insurer. It is your responsibility to read your policy documentation carefully and ensure the cover meets your requirements.
PuppyProtect.ie is not the insurer and does not guarantee the solvency of any insurance company with which we place business. In the event that an insurer becomes insolvent, you may be protected under the Insurance Compensation Fund, subject to certain limits.
6. Cooling-Off Period
Under the Consumer Protection Code and European Union (Insurance Distribution) Regulations, you have the right to cancel your policy within 14 days of receiving your policy documentation, without penalty and without giving any reason. This is known as the "cooling-off period".
To exercise this right, contact us in writing within the 14-day period. A full refund of premiums paid will be issued, provided no claim has been made during this time.
7. Complaints Procedure
We are committed to providing a high standard of service. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us in writing and we will investigate your complaint promptly.
We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 40 business days, in line with the Central Bank's Consumer Protection Code.
